| Near Snoqualmie |
January 21, 2006
We poked around the snoqualmie backcountry for a day.
We broke trail up a long, circuitous route in deep snow until we reached a ridge. The ridge was covered in amazing
snow monsters. I mean, trees. We then dropped into the Secret Stash and harvested much primo powder.

Greg proposed
breaking trail up the road to reconnect with our first skin track, but the rest of the party favored breaking trail back
up the direct path. So we did, and skied three runs. Or was it four? Either way, on the last run we skinned up to the
summit area and skied down a beautiful couloir that had a lot of powder on top of crust. Of course, Phil, being on a
snowboard, never felt the crust. Splitboards are cheating.
